What comes with the Moffitt Manor Reveal Rental?
The Reveal Rental includes :
- A Full 6-Hour Estate Rental
The area surrounding the Manor and Altamont holds activities and events sure to please everyone in your group. Select from some of our suggestions below for adventures off-site when the Reveal Rental ends:
About 36 miles from the Manor’s doorstep lies Tullahoma, brimming with outdoor activities, cafes, historical venues, and more. Let’s peek at some favorites for your visit-planning convenience:
Machine Falls Loop
A pleasant hike around the Loop is enjoyable for all ages. Less steady hikers should use caution as some portions are reportedly very steep and may be hazardous if it’s been raining or otherwise wet outside. Other than that, the trails are well-maintained, and the waterfalls are vast and beautiful!
Daddy Billy’s Delicatessen
Grab lunch at this cozy, down-home spot if you’re ready for some delicious pub food. Recommended are the roast beef and cheddar panini with Billy fries (sliced fresh potato slices), the dog bowl salad (served in an actual dog bowl -- really!), and the onion straws. Enjoy!
Templar Shooting Sports
Perfect for a rainy day, this indoor range is a highly respected shooting and training center in the region. They offer ten lanes of indoor shooting for any caliber of firearm, as well as a variety of educational programs and training, including the Tennessee handgun permit course.
Once you’ve explored the charming city of Altamont within walking distance of the Manor (like the courthouse, etc.), you can branch out a bit and find more attractions within a short distance. Try some of these:
A 25-minute drive from the Manor reaches Phelp’s Farm in Viola, Tennessee. A working farm with a bunkhouse for stay-overs, Phelp’s laidback environment offers plenty of activities like kayaking, walking/hiking trails, and horseback riding, and they even let guests get involved with the farming. Be sure to hit the gift shop before you leave -- its unique location may surprise you!
Altamont Coffee and Cafe
Does your group need a pick-me-up to stay bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the rest of the day’s activities? Visit the brand new Altamont Coffee and Cafe for a fresh cuppa of the good stuff! In case your guide hasn’t heard of it yet, it’s located at 9092 Highway 108. Enjoy! (Make sure they’re open before you head over; last we checked they had an inspection or two left before they could officially open for business: (931) 581-7545)
Short Mountain Distillery
You really shouldn’t miss a visit to a distillery if you’re going to be in the area -- and this one is a gem! Guests can enjoy the site’s working farm, restaurant, and guided tours, including a moonshine-tasting shot glass on Thursday through Saturday afternoons. Tours are $10, tastings are free. Learn about the history of whiskey and organic permaculture farming. Save room for lunch at the restaurant: the shrimp and grits, bourbon-glazed pork, braised collard greens, and beets and berries salads are waiting. Vegans take note: they’ve got teriyaki tempeh!
