Banquet Estate Rental - 7 Hour Rental

No matter what occasion you’re hosting, the historic Moffitt Manor of Altamont is the most extraordinary venue you could choose in the southern Tennessee region.

Situated on a full acre of greenery on the Cumberland Plateau of the stunning Appalachian mountains, the Manor provides six fully-furnished bedrooms, two and ¾ bathrooms, three elegantly-appointed parlors, each with a 60-inch television, a renovated kitchen, and a library.

Should you choose to tour the premises outdoors, you’ll find a rustic log cabin which was formerly used as a honeymoon cottage and courthouse. At 20’ x 32’, it also has a fireplace, living room, bathroom, and bedroom.

What comes with the Banquet Estate Rental - 7 Hour Rental?

Enjoy a free set-up, dining, and social event when you opt for the 7-hour banquet rental at the Manor. Seven hours gives your guests plenty of time to:

  • Set up and hand out any presentation materials necessary
  • Arrange table settings and buffet supplies
  • Self-serve buffet foods and beverages
  • Complete any speaking event or presentations
  • Relax and refresh after dining and presentations
  • Clean up and watch television or movies in one of the three parlors

Other options for your time in the Manor:

Simple spa treatments: Some might like to finish off their banquet experience with a simple spa treatment to send guests on their way in style. For example, a hot paraffin wax treatment on the hands is easy to do, low-fuss, and leaves the hands feeling super soft. At the same time, a short shoulder massage or acupuncture treatment for relaxation could also make the occasion memorable.

Photo sessions: If you’re interested in a professional photo session to commemorate your event, we’ve included an extensive list of local photographers you could contact on another page on the site. The Manor offers an array of elegant backdrops for photoshoots, as you’ll see in the images included.

For anyone who’d like to visit some area points of interest on their way out of town, here are a few of our favorites for your trip planning convenience:

The surrounding area has plenty of fun spots for visitors

Tennessee Aquarium

About 1 ½ hours’ drive from the Manor’s doorstep is Chattanooga and the site of the renowned Tennessee Aquarium. Situated along the Chattanooga riverfront, this locale comprises two buildings: the freshwater exhibits are in one, while saltwater species are featured in the other. It’s advised that guests plan on spending at least two hours at the aquarium, including extra time for IMAX theater shows, gift shop browsing, and lunch at the refreshment center.

Chattanooga Audubon Society

Fourteen miles from the aquarium is the Chattanooga Audubon Society. Check their calendar for any nature-inspired events you may enjoy. Four different sanctuaries are available for tours, and summer camps, scouting, preschool, and other programs, while various other learning opportunities are available for all ages on the premises.

Historic Downtown Chattanooga Segway Tour

See the sights of historic downtown Chattanooga without taking a single step -- get on your segway and start rolling! This tour lets you visit the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Miller Plaza, Ross Landing, Warehouse Row, the Dome Building, Tennessee Aquarium, and various other hot spots. Meet up at 204 Walnut Street early, and be sure to check in at least 30 minutes before departure time. And wear your cape if they offer you one -- it’s fun, and you’ll look like a superhero!

Hands-On Discovery Museum

For those traveling with kids (or just young at heart!), plenty of fun awaits at the Hands-On Discovery Museum of Tullahoma, about 35 miles from Altamont. Be sure to check their website for year-round events and hours/admission prices (they’re closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Note: If you’ve got a little with a birthday coming up, they do birthday parties there too!

George Dickel Distillery

While you’re still in Tullahoma, why not take a tour at the George Dickel Distillery (aka Cascade Hollow)? Visit their website to choose your friendly and informative tour ahead of time, and decide which type of whiskey tasting you’d prefer at the end. Don’t miss a visit to the gift shop before you leave -- you’ll love the gorgeous fireplace.

Skydive Tennessee

For the especially adventurous among us, there’s Skydive Tennessee, just 5.5 miles from the George Dickel Distillery. This spot is excellent for both new and advanced skydivers, as diligent, experienced instructors prepare and guide you through the whole process. Videographers will commemorate your dive remarkably well also, and you’ll get to keep the memory forever and show it to friends at home.
